This is probably one on the biggest topics with in the first couple weeks of my fitness groups.
It happens, it’s uncomfortable, but it does pass, no pun intended.
I literally just laughed for a good ten minutes.
Gas and bloating can occur for various different reasons a lot of times when you are starting a new program you can be eating a new way in which it will take time for your body to adjust. Usually by the second week, your body has adjusted and you’re feeling good.
Some other things to keep in mind.
Some dark leafy greens can be harder to digest, for me personally, Kale does not work well with my body – but if I chop it up nice and small, then my body can handle it well.
Digestive enzymes actually start in the mouth, so if you take your food and chop it up, you are preparing your body to accept the food and nutrients you are going to give it.
Are you stressed? When you are stressed out your body will start to shut down various different things to figure out what it wrong and to heal itself, pretty cool, huh? One of the first things that it shuts down is Digest Enzymes. This happened to me when I was pregnant and I ended up on a plethora of supplements and even diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to inject myself with insulin – once I started to control my stress and get some digestive enzymes into my system, I was then able to absorb the nutrients in food and I was then taken off of my extra supplements as well as my insulin. Never under estimate what stress can do to your body.
Gas and bloating can also be in response to something that your body is sensitive too. This is a great time to food journal and to be clear on what you eat, how your body responded to it and also how it makes you feel, physically and emotionally.
When I started tracking and documenting my food I realized my food addiction, my emotional eating, and also food sensitivities – by learning all that information, I have sense been able to take control of my eating habits and ensure that every meal that I eat in turn, leaves me feeling good, physically and emotionally.
As people start new programs they usually start to consume protein drinks or shakes – a lot of them out there have Whey or Casein – which are a very high for food sensitivities. I personally can’t use those products and I notice how even when I have a drink off of something with whey in it – my stomach instantly bloats.
